There are many of us always on the look out to save on those precious grams, to ensure we are faster up those pesky hills, all without actually going on a diet.
Well one Italian brand, Alptitude, have looked to save grams with a nifty invention that could replace your bike’s out-front computer mount.
Usually built of plastic, out-front mounts from the likes of Garmin, Polar and Wahoo, have few carbon offerings but Alptitude’s Stelvio mount is trying to rectify that.
Thanks to its hollowed out carbon fibre tubing, the out-front mount will certainly save you some serious grams with Aptitude claiming a weight of just 15g.
Riders can get the mount in two sizes, either small (79mm) or normal (89mm) and can be customised to fit either Garmin, Wahoo or Polar bike computers.
The small sized mount fits devices like the Wahoo bolt or Garmin 520 with the normal size better suited to larger devices like the Garmin 1030.
The mount then attaches to your handlebars via your stem face plate using an extended titanium bolt that can be used to thread into your stem alongside a normal bolt giving a seamless look to your cockpit set up.
In terms of cost, this lightweight component doesn’t come cheap with the Italian brand bringing the mount to market at €85
The mount can be adjusted to fit different computers if you find yourself changing allegiances but you will have to buy the additional fitting for the mount which cost just over €6.
