Many may remember Tom Skujins’ (Trek-Segafredo) Tour of California campaign from last year that saw him crash hard on a descent.
The footage was shocking showing him trying to get up and collect his sunglasses before getting back on his bike. Moments later he narrowly avoided colliding with other riders as he tried to ride on in a daze.
Fast forward to this year’s edition of the race and Skujins launched a blistering attack in the final kilometres of stage 3 of the Amgen Tour of California to secure a great comeback victory.

However, instead of being solemn the young rider took the moment to just enjoy his achievement and produced one of the best celebrations you may ever see on a bike.
The Lativian rider won by three seconds against Sean Bennett (Hagens Berman Axeon) on what was a lumpy stage.
Incredibly happy to take a win at @AmgenTOC. Was a hard battle, but it wouldn't at all be possible without my @TrekSegafredo teammates and staff… as well as @toseanandbeyond! That kid deserved a win just as much pic.twitter.com/Nw8yx9MCt3

He later said on Twitter that he was “Incredibly happy to take a win” before saying that he had wanted to do create a “trademark” celebration.
“Sometimes I day dream about a cool victory salute I could trademark. It was never this, mostly because [it’s] impossible to do those moves again”
We can’t wait for his next win just to see if he can manage to copy it or if he comes up with something completely different.
